Default AM/FM Radios

Are the big car radios the same as the ones in the GTO for 1968? If not what are the differences?

Not sure about 68s, but about 10 years ago a friend bought an AM/FM radio for his 69 - really cheap - it came out of a 69 Catalina or Bonneville (can't remember which). He said it didn't fit. I think he said it was physically larger than the GTO version and the face was different or the knobs were slightly off...I just remember him cursing because he couldn't use it without cutting his dash.

Do a search on it. I have posted a link for it many times.

The AM/FM in my 68 GTO is out of a big car. You have to relocate the heat sink which is located on the side to the rear of the unit. 68 was a one year only design.
69-72 (GTO) are interchangeable.
