69 LeMans glovebox lock--early or late style?
Hi all,
my glovebox lock is starting to lock when i don't want it to so I was looking at year 1's catalog and they list the lock for a 68-69 gto in both a early and late style lock and key. does anyone know what kind of lock and key a 69 LeMans would use (my ignition key is small and rectangular, and my trunk key is small and oval.) Thanks! |

Never knew they had early/late styles for 69..
As for key, in 69 Lemans/GTO rectangular should be for door/ignition and oval for trunk/glovebox...

There are early and late "correct" key designs (through '68 and '69-up). The early keys are more expensive so for people who don't care about total originality, both locksets are available to fit early cars. For a '69 it doesn't matter--it uses a late key. If you don't want to carry several keys, get the trunk and console lockset at the same time--they'll all be the same.
