Default Help Needed for 69 GTO Shifter Plate

I am looking for assistance in installing a correct Hurst 4 speed shifter back into my 69 GTO with a console.

I have replaced the 1966 M-20 with a 1973 M-20 with tail housing part number 3978764. The current problem that I have is the shifter is tilted towards the back of the car to far and will hit the console when the car is in 2nd or 4th gear. My question is will a correct reproduced 1969 shifter plate mount to the 1973 transmission and provide a proper setting (angle) for the shifter? I also have the correct shift linkage (1969) for the car as well.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank You.
