Only got a 62 catalina, the motor is in the garage waiting for me to finish it. I received my needed A/C Pulleys from Pontiacheaven THANK YOU STEVE BARCAK!!!! the pullys are now media blasted and painted. The car is in Reno, NV and Me and the motor aren central California. We got a decent tax refund check and I was figuring where I was going to put the money when my wife told me she wants me to paint the house put in vinyl dual pane windows on the west side of the house. There went my time and money to finish the car in a timely manner. Maybe 2008? The pics are of the carin 2006 at a local show and together and a NOW picture of the Catalina apart in Neveda. GRRRRR

I, also only have one car, a '64 GTO, and it is in no way streetable. Other than that, I drive a Ranger pick-up, daily and have an F-350 dually for towing. I'll try to post a picture of the car. Hope I can.

i've got too many pontiacs apart right now to list here. i'm easily sidetracked, what can i say?

i've been driving the 65 g/p that i bought last year and have been tinkering on the last couple months.
i rebuilt the carb, cleaned the lines, repaired the tank sender, replaced the rear axle bearings / seals, cleaned out the diff housing at the same time, installed a heater core, tuned it up, replaced the rear brakes,turned the drums, packed the front wheel bearings, adjusted the front shoes, installed an oem radio, replaced the dimmer switch and most of the dash bulbs, cleaned about 20 years of tx dirt from the interior and have another 20 to go. most of the above i expected, so no big suprises yet outside of the old girl's running condition. it's rare that i buy a car that's actually a basic runner this one's turned out to be pretty dependable so far.

on the list are the chassis [front and rear] bushings, springs, shocks, repair the wiring to the fuel guage,install some halogen headlight bulbs, service the trans, convert the front brakes to disc. after she's solid mechanically and i have one of the gto's done then the g/p will come apart for a major resto.

Not much happening with the Catalina as fortunately haven't had anything major happen to it. Got a first place and second place in class at a couple of nice shows recently. Have only been to the track twice since it re-opened in January - need to make some more passes before it gets too hot and humid here in Florida. I really miss the racing but it has gotten so crowded at Bradenton Raceway.
I almost miss having a Poncho project to work on like Krautwolf, GNX Ranch, T Weber and others on this forum. I really enjoy posts about their progress.

I've been out in the garage today putting a new set of carpets in my Bonneville. It's real fun lugging that big old bench seat out of the car all by myself.

The rear carpet more or less dropped in place, with only minor trimming around the edges. The front is a little more difficult - I have to get the front edge stuffed up behind the heater and the firewall cover, plus trim it to fit around the steering column, so I'm taking a little break now to let my back recover...

Cant be in the next 2 weeks though as we have our Pontiac Nationals Easter weekend and I will be taking my '64 Bonneville down there.

I just spent a few hours putting the grille/bumper assembly together on my GP conv.

I made another trip to the junkyard for fan parts. I also had to see if my Channel Lock pliers were still there. The pliers were under the radiator of the 65 Buick LeSabre that I removed the fan clutch from. I'm glad that I didn't buy the fan, as it was only a 17 inch unit.

I'm still wondering about the radiator fan. I think the flex fan is fine, but it doesn't look all that good.

I also need Stevep's help with the kickdown switch post. The Gp Convertible has to be a 1967. I'd like one of those. I can't believe Pontiac only made the Gp convertible for 1 year.

Thanks for the posts, I was getting bored rereading the old ones.

The Aussie beer sounds good, enjoy some for me. I talked to an Australian at a car shop a couple of months ago. He was filling a container with antiques, cars and car parts.

Trying to get some things done with the engine in the car but no mufflers. I ordered a set from Pypes but it came missing a few parts - therefore could not put the system on. Cheated and stuck the mufflers on the downpipes - didn't blow them off too many times. I just wanted to get the engine up to operating temp and look for leaks - just one - power steering hose, thightened and that fixed the leak. Water temp after long idle was 180 to 190 - good. Oil pressure was 85. The end carbs stumble when they come in - need to adjust. Park on the tranny doesn't hold - sounds like the pawl is worn - damn. BUT I put it in gear and moved it out of the garage and back in - all I could with state of the mufflers. IT WAS A GREAT DAY!

Hmm, last post was in the lobby...See Car Season Open...

Got my 66 BOnne wagon out for ht efirst time all year. Still a litttle snow left in the Poconos. Fortunately I got a JD 770 tractor with loader on it to move a lot of the last snowfall out of the way. Anyway, got the wagon runnning quite well today after finally getting the AFB rebuilt and the engine tuned well. WEnt for a short run after dinner. The 389 runs well now, took from a dead stop to 75 without any hesitation, pinging or surging. I have the dwell at 29.5, and could use a little more advance timing at -2, but I think I'll just leave it where it is so it always starts easy. On the back roads, it seems time for new shocks and springs so I ordered the shocks and an ADDCO 1 1/8 front sway bar from Summit tonight.

Next question is to plunk a 3.42 posi in it or just leave the high-geared peg leg in it.

ANyone know of a good set of rear springs to jack up the back a little?

I just parted a 66 GP and will be going to Carlisle, NC 34-35, so if you're coming, stop in.

Though I was going to sell my gold 66 GP, now that I got a 4 speed setup for it, it's likely to stay around. Unless there is a 65-6 Cat/Bonne 2+2 ragtop available somewhere that someone might want to sell. Has to be a nice driver...

Looking foward to Norwalk. Just got to convince Joyce that a 24 ft enclosed trailer really isn't an eyesore when parked behind the garage. Wish I hadn't sold the red one!!!

call coil spring specialties and spec out how much higher than stock you want the rear. they wind them up for you. i used them for my 68 got springs and will use them for the g/p's chassis. the stance i'm planning on will piss off the mag and the protouring guys but i have to drive it locally and want to run 70 mph every where i can. she'll sit a little high but that's ok, it won't lose any mufflers on the local roads.

if the drivetrain stays sound until then i may take it to norwalk rough this year.

i'm pretty sure i saw the gold 66 g/p for sale in the swap at norwalk last year? almost asked if that was you but jen was in a hurry to get somewhere.

Let me know about the carpet job. I had an interior shop install mine and I forgot about the console base. I went back to look at the old pictures and noticed that the rotting carpet was installed over the plastic support.

I posted about this before and it looks like the front carpet should end at middle of the Fisher tag. I don't want to screw it up again.

Is the ice off of Lake Le Homme Dieu yet? It's probly not, but I just wanted to include a reference point. It's the standard that is used in Douglas county. It usually occurs around 4/17, but with global warming??

Ditto Mike Nixon above about Coil Spring Specialities in Kansas. They can set up your springs for any height you need. They did the new springs for my Cat, good job and short turn around time.
