Send the carb to Jeff "shaker455". He's a whiz when it comes to tuning holley/demon carbs.

tom? grumpy?

as far as i know tom's more of a ford/pontiac guy and grumpy is more of a chebby guy. grumpy is always walking around with a cigar in his mouth. i wonder how often he goes to a new one?

if making money from 'doing favors' is your game, don't offer help for free. and i don't see how someone who posts close to 7000 comments/topics in less than 6 years couldn't have the time to help someone. i think people would respond better to that than posting some kind of whiney post about how you feel people are taking advantage of you.
and...isn't this the third or fourth time you've quit posting/doing stuff on this board in the couple years i've been on it?

This world is full of information about everything and anything. The way I see it is if were going to spend our hard earned money on expensive racing parts the user should learn how to make them function properly. The fact that the part has been produced means the hard part has been done already. Making tuning changes and logging runs is the best information the user could have. With the use of EGT meters and O2 sensors make tuning a lot easier than trying to read a plug.
Fact is none of us were born with this information already programmed into our brains. It must be learned. Depending on other tuners skills teaches you nothing other than depending on other people to tune your car.

I just hope I can get the car to the local track this year. To much work to do. I don't think you'd have much trouble trailering me. I did get my lights under one second last year! Whats the elevation @ Douglas?

I want to go where the elevation is lower. I can go slow here all I wan't. You should come over here. Then there would be 3 Pontiacs at our track.

Guy's that I know on here and I've helped I want to say thanks for the kind words....you've all been a pleasure to work with!

I'm not sure why Tom put up this post and referred me the way he did and I hope things get better on his end because he's a great guy to know and to work with!....I hope to meet him in person this summer if he attends Norwalk.

FYI: Guy's that I've done carbs for that are going to this event if I do in fact attend I will be happy to dial in your combo and I will be happy to look at anyone elses too!

Lil Jack hasn't been "champeen" for several years...unless you're talking about "champeen diaper changer"...I understand he's gotten very good at that (LOL), being able to do it in less than 9 seconds.

Default I will reply one time only

This post was put on here to get a rise out of me.Here is how this went down.I sent one of my customers carbs to Tom with a off idle stumble. After a few weeks he called me and we went over the problem. He did not see any problems with it other than the calibration and was willing to recalibrate it and send it back free of charge the following week.I expressed to him this was not my carb which he charged me to work on in the past.It was my customers and to make it worth his while for his time.He said no problem, still no charge.I contacted my customer and told him it was on the way and he was nice enough to do it for free. This is where it went bad.I contacted him via pm 3 weeks later and he said he was on it.Another 3 weeks goes by and still no carb.I contacted him again via pm again and he got pissed off.He had this carb for 3 months.A few weeks into it I told the customer he would get it back and he asked about it constantly as I would have also.I had nothing to tell him accept for it was on the way but that only works for so long. The way I look at is I am an employee of the customer and I am obligated to get answers when they are presented to me by him.If this makes me a prick in someone elses eyes so be it.My customers come first that is the bottom line. This was a strait up deal between two grown men and he dropped the ball!As for your real job you sent the letter about Tom dont loose it you will go broke otherwise.Overpaid lazy people drove a once great OEM (FORD) into the ground.Brian Ulrich

The forums probably aren't the best place for adults to "air" out their problems with business oriented ventures.

I fully understand Tom's frustations with these things. Way back when I used to have a full time job AND build carburetors, it was difficult to get a lot of them completed, at least in a timely manner. Some days you just don't feel like putting in 8 hours at one job, plus a couple hours of commuting time in heavy traffic, then come home and jump all over a carburetor job.

We get a lot of emails and phone calls this time of year for carburetor status, this week alone we had at least 60 phone calls and nearly that many emails. Figure about 10 minutes per phone call and nearly that for a couple of emails back and forth, and we lost 1200 minutes out of the shop this week! That's at least 20 hours that I could have spent building a half dozen carbs or so!

If you have work here, we are getting to it as quickly as possible. We know the racing and car show season is here, and are working as quickly and efficiently as possible to get the work done.......Cliff
