Default Fastest with manual trans?

What's the fastest/quickest anyone around here's gone while rowing?

What was the whole combo?

Curious!

Years ago there were quite a few cars running 9's with 4 speeds, most were using the Liberty(Hemi) trans. I have run low 11's with one, my car ran high 11's with a Muncie last year. Bracket rules pretty much killed racing 4 speeds, JMO. -Jim

There are some WICKED fast manual trans cars are some of the big races. I can't get one to live very long, nearly every time I get near one being used behind a potent Pontiac mill, I break them.

To date I've blown up a couple of Muncie's and a Super T-10, while test driving customers cars with stout 455 engines. I don't drive them anymore, pretty embarrasing, especially when the owner is sitting in the passengers seat!.....Cliff

I love my G Force GF 2000 (clutchless 5 speed). I pulled my Jerico (9.75 @ 138mph best) and went to a Turbo 400 about three years ago. I was never happy with the turbo. I tried six different converters 8", 9" and 10" and different low gears. The best I could do was a 9.89 at 135.8 mph. The weather ( early october) and track conditions were great. The slip in high gear was 5 1/2%.
This winter the only thing I did was to install the G Force with a Bonnifante 10" clutch. Saturday I went 9.66 @ 139.24 mph. I think my 3620 lb weight and 4.375 stroke is too much for the turbo.
A lot of racers have good luck with an auto but I gave it my best shot and I'm never going back.
