Default Tempest Hardtops

Why were there no Tempest/LeMans hardtops (no posts) when hardtops were available in the Tempest's shared platforms, i.e. Buick Skylark and Olds F-85? As far as I know, all Tempest/LeMans "coupes" were post bodies, like my '63 LeMans.

No hard tops in 61-63!!! Remember, This was Pontiac's " Economy" car.

Let me try again- does anyone know the reasons Pontiac didn't build a Tempest/LeMans hardtop? I'm looking for the history behind this.

Don't know. Maybe Buick and Olds 'leaned on' corporate management to have the high-end offerings to themselves- Skylark, etc.?
