Default Compression testing

I want to compression test my 60 389 using my old sears compresssion tester gauge. Since I'll be doing this myself, can I get a reasonable comparison of the cylinders if I just crank it 5-6 revs per cylinder? The gauge I have holds the highest pressure it sees. Thx for any info / input.

remove the spark plugs from the other cylinders. more important than high psi rating is a psi rating on all cylinders that is within about 10% of each other. Make sure the engine is warmed up. A leak down testor is a more accurate way to tell more about an engines condition.
