Default oh yeah, fired the car up today for the first time

well basically, it all went pretty well. tried to start it last night...no spark. tried another coil this morning, still no spark. changed from my digital 6 to just a 6al, and boom. instant fire. started right up, idled just fine, and revved up just fine. this rocks. i love some 14:1 compression, big solid f/t cam with 106 lsa, and open headers.

should be on the road within two weeks. needs exhaust, aligned, throttle cable, and shifter cable.

in case you dont know, this is it: 1979 grand prix, .060 455, ross pistons, eagle rods, 670 heads milled .060, 2.11/1.88 valves, flow 284/245 @.550 lift, 267/272 duration, .568/.573 lift, 106 lsa, 4500 victor, 1050 dominator. has electric water pump. th-400 with neel chance stall, 9" with 3.90, 35 spline mosers, detroit locker, adj upper control arms, solid lowers, manual 4 wheel disc brakes, coil overs on all 4 corners. 29x10 hoosiers in the rear.

Congratulations I just got mine running a short time ago. To hear that thing fire up the first time really gets your heart beating. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Sounds like it should fly.

thanks guys. the first time i drove it around the block, i was all smiles. it was pretty cool though. a 22 year old that built this car in two years, drives it around with a lope'n ass 14:1 compression, and open headers, the older guys in my neighborhood all came out of their house and just staired and gave me some thumbs ups.

performerrpm, you will actually be surprised. its not terribly loud with them open. but, still pretty loud. what part of oklahoma are you in?

gettin exhaust done monday- 3" to 3" x-pipe, to 3" dynomax race bullits, dumped at rear end.

performerrpm, i know where thats at. ill be up at the tulsa track sometime within a couple months.

jk, oh, you know they will be. but, i havent had any tickets or wrecks ever so that might help when i get pulled over. and it seems like here in oklahoma, they are a lil more leiniant towards exhaust and slicks. and yeah, just a normal everyday street car-tag, insurance, full interior, workin lights (blinker, brake lights, parkin lights, brights, head lights), slicks, 3" bullits, 1050 dominator, no hood. lol

oklahoma does seem to be alot more forgiving than alot of other places on what they might let you get away with especially if the barnie that gets you likes your car
