Lynn just so you know 2 years ago I tried to get the same combo approved Langer now has,at that time he is the one that blocked the heads from getting in.I also helped get them approved last year.As far as anyone crying well I've run both combos when I ran the pontiac in real street I only recieved a 50 pound weight break and won a championship against all the other brands I know the pontiac will not make the same power,but Johns motor does make 50 ft. pounds more torque than mine and at 3550 its a big difference.A 250 pound weight difference is huge to over come no matter what.As far as switching back that will never happen I just dont have the time for the maint. The chevy has 100 runs without pulling the motor apart the pontiac couldnt go 20.As far as me saying I made the wrong decision that will never happen.I spent well over a 100k in engine development over 6 years on the pontiac stuff out of my own pocket.With the chevy it gets split between 3 motors to some extent.My new car has already been sold at the end of the season so I can move up to extreme street.

Thumbs up Bruce. I know when you won the championship you had to use parts that couldn't pull the hp that the latter heads and intake can pull and were finally approved after you made the switch. I know the expense ya had. People don't know the gimmies that the Pontiac upper class of racers get for free now. You did the R& D so that B.E.S. can make those Pontiacs produce.

I love Bruce....He even took time out in the middle of a points battle to fly to Maine for my wedding...He is a True friend. Ps I am still waiting for my Pontiac miny Starter!!!!(since 04..LOL)

I was in no way criticizing you specifically as I love Big Blocks in any form. Pontiacs are just my favorite.

$100k is that all? I was talking to Don K about a number 3 times that, and he said to me, "is that all"? (just couldnt resist) Racing is expensive, especially if they make you start with all OEM castings and let everyone else run Bowtie and Edelbrock replacements.

Although I poke jabs at Bruce, he has helped me out over the years with my combo. His switch to a bbc was purely done to be more competative in this series. (2) years ago, if the Tiger head was approved in the NMCA Pro Stock class, it would have ruined it. For 2007, the NMCA has opened up the rules to allow more heads. In 5 events this season, the Pontiac has won 2 and the bbc has won 2. The 5th race was not completed. The bbc has qualified #1 three times and the Pontiac #1 twice. The bbc holds the record but the Pontiac has made the fastest pass in the class (was done in the finals at Bradenton and couldn't back it up). Me and Bruce will be in a points fight for the last 2 races. If he gets lucky and wins the championship, I will be happy for him for he will have had to work for it. As far as the weight is concerned, Bruce has to weigh 175 over my base combo (I get 75 for nostalgia). His motor is down on torque compared to the other 2 bbc's but he is way up on hp.

sounds like a nice freindly rivalry. bruce did a lot of hard work it sounds like, but john is more of a die-hard- reminds me of a modern day arnie beswick. no matter what ive gotta root for the pontiac power. putting a chevy in it is just being like the rest of the crowd. the easier way out. kick the bowites ass john ! and bring home ANOTHER championship for pontiac, maybe some more will be running pontiac power then.
