Default Ram Air in GTO vs Judge in 69 and 70

Anyone has more/other info on the breakdown on RA engines in GTO´s and Judges?
This is what I´ve read and heard:

1969:
WS 6392. GTO: 1249 HT and 175 CV. Judge: 4894 HT and 74 CV
YZ 2099. GTO: 452 HT and 84 CV. Judge: 1534 HT and 29 CV
WW 594. GTO: 310 HT and 40 CV. Judge: 239 HT and 5 CV
XP 165. GTO: 93 HT and 14 CV. Judge: 58 HT and 0 CV

1970:
WS 3228. GTO: 848 HT and CV. Judge: 2380 HT and CV. GTO and Judge: 3054 HT and 174 CV
YZ 1416. GTO: 413 HT and CV. Judge: 1003 HT and CV. GTO and Judge: 1302 HT and 114 CV
WW 651. GTO: 326 HT and CV. Judge: 325 HT and CV. GTO and Judge: 627 HT and 24 CV
XP 153. GTO: 68 HT and 13 CV. Judge: 72 HT and 0 CV.

I will post this in both the 70-72 thread and the Judge thread so more can respond!

How's about putting 455 with Ram Air induction on the list? Make it more complete?

The titel of this thread didn´t say engines so let´s include the Ram air induction 455 cars.
Don´t know for sure but I think the Judges with 455 had Ram air induction since it was a part of "The Judge" package, don´t have any info on the GTO´s with Ram air induction and 455 engine.
Here is the info I have on production numbers:

1969:
WS 6392. GTO: 1249 HT and 175 CV. Judge: 4894 HT and 74 CV
YZ 2099. GTO: 452 HT and 84 CV. Judge: 1534 HT and 29 CV
WW 594. GTO: 310 HT and 40 CV. Judge: 239 HT and 5 CV
XP 165. GTO: 93 HT and 14 CV. Judge: 58 HT and 0 CV

1970:
WS 3228. GTO: 848 HT and CV. Judge: 2380 HT and CV. GTO and Judge: 3054 HT and 174 CV
YZ 1416. GTO: 413 HT and CV. Judge: 1003 HT and CV. GTO and Judge: 1302 HT and 114 CV
WW 651. GTO: 326 HT and CV. Judge: 325 HT and CV. GTO and Judge: 627 HT and 24 CV
XP 153. GTO: 68 HT and 13 CV. Judge: 72 HT and 0 CV.
455 engines: (don´t know Ram air induction numbers, these are total production numbers)
WA 1979. GTO: 1821 HT and 158 CV. Judge: 0
YA/YC 2227. GTO: 1972 HT and 238 CV. Judge: 14 HT and 3 CV

The Ram Air as standard on the 455's Judges is something that's been aruged here long and hard! LOL

I believe Gary Cave's car with 29K original miles had the Ram Air induction and it was not on the order form to we must assume that it was standard - if I remember Gary's car and documentation correctly.

Seems logical to me! If it was extra it would have been on the PHS. Is it on Yours PHS? Although it should be on the buildsheet both as standard or option. But anyway You can never say never when it cames to cars...

I WISH I had my Buildsheet! I have PHS and original order/receive checklist. Of course it mentions Air Inlet Hood on it.

Thanks Baron. Where did you get those numbers? Very interesting.

Now to extrapalate (if I'm making wrongheaded assumptions just let me know) ...

9% of all GTO's were convertibles 3,615 vs. 40,149 GTO's.
9.6% of all 455 GTO's were convertibles 399 vs. 4146 455 GTO's

so we're pretty consistent there.

Therefore we must assume that at least a good starting point would be to say that 9% of all 455 Ram Air cars were convertibles (until there is information to the contrary)

That would put us at:
455 Ram Air Convertibles with 4spd: 27
455 Ram Air Convertibles with Auto: 20

I know of 4 autos and 1 4spd car with such options.
#1 Auto: Judge, Red over Red, Matching #'s, Survivor 29K miles!
#2 Auto: Burgandy over Red, Matching #'s, Column shift, Show Mint Restored
#3 Auto: Burgandy over Red, Non-Matching, Needs restored
#4 Auto: White, Non-Matching, Restored
#1 4spd: Atoll Blue over Blue, Matching #'s, Restored not Show Mint

There is rumor of a Triple Black 4spd speed Convertible but I have not been able to verify. There have been 3-4 hardtops for sale on ebay over the past 5 years.

If anyone has any information about these cars or has some corrections for me on what I've posted please go ahead.

Thanks

Fred Simmonds of PMD supplied those figures. They should be very close and/or exact, always room for small errors.

I think he pretty much is the supplier of most, if not all, of the production number records we have available to us.

It's amazing how much data that he has available to him. Where is he gathering this data from?

Do you think he can get a breakdown between hardtops and convertibles (and then sub-totaled by transmission?) That would be awesome!

I don't believe Fred works for Pontiac any more, at least not in that area - he did that research during his lunch hour and after work. Back when the service was free he was a pretty busy guy.

Imagine the research that could be done today... but alas... Not to be
(why? Because where's the profit in that?). Only 'research' done today is for personal reasons and those in 'the inner circle'.
