Fan spacer
Anyone know the distance between the radiator and fan on a 71 Lemans 400? I have a clutch fan and it is set back from the shroud by about 2 inches (seems a little hazardous). I may be missing a spacer (2.5"?). Adding the spacer would leave 1.5" between the radiator and fan blades. Thanks.

Fan to shroud spacing..................
This subject has been widely discussed, and most agree that the fan blade tips should be placed 1/2 in, and 1/2 out of the shroud for the best draw thru the radiator.

Thanks. I would generalyy agree - turbines have the blades set well into the shroud. I think my system is missing the part that I saw on ebay, so I am hoping someone can tell me the stock setup: spacer or no spacer? Aslo, can someone with a 71 400measure the distance between the rad and the fan with a tape measure? Thanks.
