Question 8-lug spare wheel color?

Hey Guys,Im trying to determin the correct color for spare wheel(8-lug)?I thought on 64-up they would be black?I just removed one from 67 G/P and it is painted silver. All 4 wheels on car were black. The spare is black on back, but face is silver. The hold down is painted black(semi-gloss?).This is the second spare Ive seen that was silver.Anyone with known low-mile, orig. car that can check this? Thanks for your help,Kenny

Kenny mine always matched the wheels on the car. The 62 down were Silver. If you look real hard the date of the rim should be stamped on it.

A friend of mine just parted out a 64 GP with 27,000 actual miles on it. Still had the original unused spare in the trunk, it was black.
