Can someone help me diagnose an electrical problem with my 71 Lemans Sport?
The radio works fine when the key is in the ON position. When I start the car it may stay on or immediately blow a fuse. If it stays on, I can drive a short distance (around a block or so) before the fuse blows. Thanks to anyone. I posted this on a different forum and got now replies. This is my first shot at this. Have you measured the voltage when the car is running? What size fuse do you have? Sounds like an over voltage problem. Have you changed out the alt, regulator, recently?

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I am using a 10 amp fuse. I have a voltmeter that registers about 14 when the engine is running with lights on. I haven't changed any alts, etc. Thanks again Green Lageen |
