Paint Job is done.
I' ve received today my '66 burgundy Post Coupe from the painter. Fenders are cleaned and instead of a rear tail panel there are the PONTIAC letters from a '66 GTO. Last edited by SwissLeMans; 04-24-2009 at 08:01 PM. |

When I took my tail panel off for the first time, I wasnt sure if I should put it back on. The rear end looked so much cleaner. |

The Fenders are totally clean. The reason was, it has a '67 fenders and header panel and i like the '66 front more than the '67. On the rear, there will be no tail panel. I will just put on the P O N T I A C letters from the '66 GTO.

Here a picture from the fender. All the holes are welded, also on the rear tail panel.

Original.... that's the key word Charles.
If I ever have the money for it, that's what I'll be doing..... original color.

I know what you mean about the gold interior. I painted my lemans linden green and did the interior black. I also painted the interior green, I like the way the color flows threw when you open the door. Good move on putting in the 12 bolt, I did the same with 373 posi, sure beats the 256 peg leg. Keep at it and you should be driving it this summer. Can't wait to see it finished. I found ames and are host to be the best place to purchase parts. What color do plan on painting your tempest?

Satin grey would look good, and then dark tint the back and quarter glass.

Can I be the first to inquire as to what you paid for that fine specimen? In today's market, I'm thinking $10K +/-...

Thank you. We are very happy to have this car. Our 68 Firebird was totaled on Dec. 12 2009 when we were hit from behind. This car turned a huge dissappointment into something positive!
A full set of Diamond Back red line tires (Cooper brand) just arrived via UPS, they will be on the car tomorrow! Then, the 400 from our 68 Firebird is at the machine shop now and going through it. This motor was rebuilt 2 years ago and was putting 405hp to the rear wheels. The motor has a Crane roller cam & lifter, roller rockers, forged pistons and a brand new crank. In addition, it has #62 heads from 1969 (RamAir III), a stock Pontiac intake and a stock Q-jet. Then, I have the original M21 from the Firebird that was completely rebuilt and converted to an M22 last summer. Both of these will be going into our 67 LeMans within the next few weeks along with a pair of HO Pontiac manifolds, a complete mandel bent 2-1/2" exhaust with dual Violators and stock tail pipe tips out the back. In addition, I have a complete 4-wheel power disc brake conversion kit coming this week from CPP. So, when all of the above is complete, we will have one serious sleeper on our hands as there will NOT be any GTO parts on this car. The only addition to the exterior aside from the red lines will be a hood tach, that's it... Oh yeah, and the 400 will be dressed to look just the original 326 that is in the car now. Stock air cleaner and all! Last edited by 67 LeMans 326; 02-03-2010 at 08:30 PM. |

We bought this car 4 weeks ago off Ebay. We bought the car from the second owner, who only owned the car for barely one year. He bought the car from the estate of the original owner. We did get the Protecto plate with the car as well. We paid 15k for the car. It's a bit high for a LeMans 326 so I am told, however, this is a 54k mile, numbers matching car. The car also has a brand new set of Rally I rims, centers, lugs and tires. I was also given the original 2bbl intake and carb when I bought the car, as well as a set of NOS seat covers. The driver's side lower seat had a small tear in the seam. I've already had the NOS covers installed and the old cover fixed.

Wow, that is a great looking car. Great to see you got those pics in front of that old Pontiac dealer before they take that sign down! If I remember, that is in Orlando? Congrats on picking up that beauty!
