GIVE ME MORE!! I like the front in the air stance of the 60s.Drag cars today just dont have personality like back then. I have some pix of myself sitting on a open hauler with
Don Gays 66 Infinity GTO and Roy Gays Firebird 400.Ill post them when I find them.

Thanks for link Eddy.....the 60 Big Iron looks cool with the Keystone wheels...at least I think they are. Apapaho was runing C stock when I first saw/worked on the car "back in the day". Gene ran a lot of IHRA back then..I think he won C stock championship one year but can't document that. Bob Maxie's 60 wagon (Eric's post) sure looks a lot like Joe Perzan's Big Bruiser wagon....right down to the altered grille...
I've been pondering a wheel selection since ditching my 8 Lugs in favor of safety with disc brakes...got to remain different ya know..
Sorry I was slow checking things out on this thread.....
I don't think I have any pics of car when Gene Calhoune ran the car..

It's not a drag car, but I don't believe anybody would have enough guts to try this today...

This is the only picture I have of my GTO racing. It was taken in about 1977. I started racing it in late '64.

OMT -

Now I don't feel so bad; I have never found any pictures of one of our cars going down the track...

That GA looks like the one Slow Spitzer's selling.
No offense to slowspitzer, but Maxey's GA was a work of art. Currently owned by MIR racer Joey Mattera. It has been parked for the last couple of seasons, but he has plans to bring it back out in the spring. That car was high tech for it's day. Basically a pro-stock chassis. Lots of cool inovations inside and out.

Steve's (slowspitzer) GA was an ex-prostock car itself if I'm not mistaken, pretty trick little car. Don't weigh sh#t! I don't know why he wants to get rid of it (yeah I do!) but he'll miss it after it's gone if he ever sells it.
