Found these pics a few days ago, never saw this one before, 66 GTO AWB Funny car, called "Comanchee" owned by Tommy Dempsey and Jules Nardi, out of the Chicago area, I was told it ran an injected 428, Logge Chassis, possibly all fiberglass body, built by Jay Howell, (he also built Don Gay's 66)

These are pics of pics I took a few weeks ago. Both cars belonged to a family friend. He built the roadster in the early 60s as a drag/street racer and then built the Fiat as a drag car in the mid 60s i'm guessing. Both were run at Pittsburgh International Dragway which is where these pics appear to have been taken.
I don't know much about them except that the Fiat was turning mid 10s with a sbc. I spent a lot of time in his garage as a kid back in the 60s since he and my dad were good friends. He was also the 'The guy to beat' on the street back then with his sbc powered 36 Ford coupe which he still has.
He is now in his early 80s but still very active with hot rods. I need to go see him someday.

But the black & white photo (apparently at '61 Nationals) is an unblown Tempest engine. Although I was there, I admit to not remembering the car. And it doesn't have Mickey's "trademark" milling off of the head's exhaust surface with his welded-on adaptors. It sure looks like "Gentleman Jack" Chrisman standing by it- anybody know for sure whether he drove for Mickey at that event?

Troy- If you mean the end-to-end blown twins in post#1074- it's the twin-215-engine rail that Mickey ran at Indy '62. The rear engine had the Buick version of the heads and the front engine had the Olds/Pontiac heads (I think both shortblocks were iron, neither of them the aluminum Buick- but I could be wrong).

Note that the photo just before that is the blown hemi Pontiac that won the '62 Nationals for Mickey, with Chrisman driving. [It's not out-of-the-question that those heads and block could be the ones now in my hemi V8, since I bought them from Mickey].
