Installing emblems on front fender on 67
I drilled the holes today for the chevrons on the sides of my 67. Now I need to drill the holes for the Firebird script and birds for the front fenders. The problem is I am not sure were to put them or the best way to drill them ( no old fenders). Does anyone have a template or measurements for these emblems, and a good way to get them straight? I have looked at parts places for templates but no one has them. (only for Camaros). All help will be greatly appreciated.

i just did mine a couple of months ago on my '68. i coundn't find any templates or measurements for those emblems, only the arrowhead on the bumper and the 400 emblems on the hood. my holes were filled in with bondo, so the pre-existing holes were easy to find and drill from behind. i have no reason to believe that the holes aren't original, but there is a 1/2 inch difference from left to right side in the placement of the forward edge of the birds. the script logo holes are on the horizontal crease in the fender, with the bird emblem holes about a 1/8 inch higer (the emblems come out even, the studs are just not even to begin with). here's some pics of mine, maybe someone else could confirm or disprove my placements as correct.
  from the forward edge of the fender, the right side bird starts at 3 inches, the script at 7 to 15 1/2, the left side is 3 1/2 and 7 1/2 to 16 inches. anyone else? i hope this helps!

My birds are centered on about 4 7/16" and my script starts at 7 1/2" If I recall correctly, the script holes were about 3/32" above the crease.

I made some templates for someone awhile back off my old fenders. If you can wait until next week, I have off for Christmas and can make you a couple. The front hole was located 3.658" to the center from the front of the fender and 6.583 to center in a straight line from the bottom. One of the firebird holes was 6.448 to center from the bottom. Those two hole locations would line up the rest of the template. Let me know.

I can wait until next week to drill the holes. The shop will be closed a couple days next week. I would like to have some templates. The more help the better. I wonder how the factory installed the emblems? How accurate was the factory?
