I am ordering new replacement glass from OEM Glass and need to know the logo placement for both the front and rear glass. Can anyone help? '67 LeMans 2 dr. hardtop sport coupe (now a GTO clone).
I need to know: driver or passenger side placement does it read from inside or outside is etching on inside or outside what are the codes (OEM glass should be able to provide this info, but wouldn't hurt to have it and any other info you can share.) Where I could look or search for this info? I don't know anyone locally with a '67 GTO. Thank you so much for your time! Scot Lewis [email protected] |

I assume you are talking about the small logo etched into the windshield?
On my 67 GTO HT it is on the passenger side. Read from inside the car Etched on the outside lower right corner. Information is top to bottom: Shaded Soft-Ray Safety Plate Laminated The is a small square box in between the words Safety and Plate with letters that look like LOF There are also some wery small numbers and letters etched in but I can't read them even with my cheater reader glasses.

If you need to know anything else I can check mine out. It still has the original glass in it.
You have me curious though how much is OEM charging you for the new date coded glass? |

is not cheap...
I believe the front windshield is $320 w/ $60 for logo. Rear glass is $150 w/ $60 for logo. Plus shipping. I know this is pretty high, especially for the front (local quotes were closer to $220) but for what I have into this now (total resto, don't even ask how much!), I figured every little bit that helps keep it closer to original is worth it. oemglass.net |

Bill,
Thanks for your info. I got a bunch of info from the side glass, but I don't have the front or rear glass anymore so I didn't know specifics. |

Thanks for sharing! Now so I understand clearly is it $320 including $60 for logo or is it $320 + $60 for logo, etc.??
My drivers door glass has a pretty deep scratch in it. When the time comes I'll want to find another one. The problem is as good as the rest of my glass looks, if I add one new piece the rest will probably look like crap. I'll be in your shoes with $$$$$ already spent on the rest of car so I'll probably end up buying all new glass too. Thanks again! |

The logo cost is $60 each piece. The first time I talked to these guys, they were $30 each, but I didn't argue because they are the only place to get the rear glass, period. I have been looking for weeks now. All I could find was used, scratched glass (which was almost as much as new!). Just glad to be able to close up the beast and not get windblown like I'm in some rod!
Also, it seems to me I saw complete glass kits on the web somewhere just recently, maybe Ebay or one of the Chevelle sites. Came with all glass (except of course the rear glass I needed!). I'll look around and see if I can find it again. |
