Robb...I could use one of those for my GeeTOW Wagon. Thank looks like a great new piece.
If you do not go with the new RobbMc unit you can do what we did with the GeeTO Tiger and what I plan on doing to my wagon tank. I installed a bulkhead fitting just to the side of the stock sending unit. on the inside you run a hose into the tank for the pick up. Then you can use a AN fitting on the outside for a larger fuel line.

Robb, any plans for ones that fit a 2nd gen F-body by any chance? It sure would solve a lot of problems!

With the second gen F body tank design they're harder to sump than the A bodies are... Lots of F body guys would rejoice at that being available I'm sure! Damn,,,vertbird beat me to the draw,,,took too long typing mine...

Thanks guys. Like most of the products we sell, it was something I wanted for one of my cars but couldn't find so we just made one. Whenever this happens, we always think "I wonder if we could sell these?"
Our six valve fuel pumps came about because I couldn't find a decent mechanical fuel pump for my AMX. Our starters because the offset gear reduced starters often came closer to the headers on my cars than the stock starter. Our bellhousing alignment dowels because trying to align a bellhousing with the other brands made me invent new cuss words. Our regulator because it seemed to me a person shouldn't have to buy another regulator if he decided to convert from a dead-head system to a return system (or visa-versa). Our polished aluminum swivel thermostat housings because no one was making them for my AMX, my 442 or for my GS455. And our prefilters because the Mallory cannister type hang down too far and can't handle alcohol. Last edited by RobbMc; 01-22-2008 at 10:29 PM. |

If the 68-72 A-body sending units sell well we will add other applications. Which application we do next will depend on which application we get the most requests for. So far we have three requests for earlier A-bodies and two for second gen F-bodies.

Robb,
Is the pickup going to angle towards the back of the tank like a stock unit, or straight down like the picture? |

The stock ones only angle back about an inch. And they only do that so the "sock" will sit flat on the bottom rather than get bunched up during installation. It was fairly tough to design a 1/2" pickup with a 1/2" return AND still have a sending unit AND still get it all to fit in the stock hole in the tank. Making the pickup tube longer and bending it towards the back of the tank made it impossible to install. Just like when using a stock sending unit, we recommend keeping the tank at least half full when drag racing. |

What about us X-bodies? I assume it would be the same as a first gen. F-body.
