First we sandblast the pedals to bare metal, then they are painted silver to look like bare metal, then they are dipped in black paint to replicate the factory procedure.

Since they are painted silver first, the "bare metal" areas don't rust like they did from the factory.

The spatter paint is the stuff sold through Ames. It's not an absolute perfect match to the original but it's as close as I have found.

I really like the black spoiler. I did not do that on my Judge when I restored it. Looks great. What black paint did you use on it?

The black paint on the spoiler and hood scoops is actually DuPont basecoat/clearcoat. I use a special clearcoat that dries to a pre-set gloss level. This way the flat black parts are much more durable than the factory paint was......and they can be waxed right along with the rest of the car without fear of getting white residue on the flat black paint.

Thanks, I used PPG on my car and I see that they also offer a "flat" clear. Out of the can it is 0 - 5% gloss. I can also mix it with other clears to achieve an eggshell gloss. I am wondering just how glossy it should be? Was the black spoiler from the factory a true Flat black?

I can't believe you've restored an entire car in the time it took me to do my 2nd 2K and block sanding. Oh yeah....I reinstalled the driver's seat and the windshield...lol
