Just wondering having read the article in Jim Hand's book "How to build high preformance pontiac v8's. On page 16 he says "The exhaust heat is directed under the base plate at the front , and required Double Gaskets and a stainless steel seperator plate." Has anyone gone with two non metalic gaskets with the lower gasket having the cut away material for the heat holes and the second gasket not having heat holes and cut exactly like the steel baffle plate. When I took my Rochester off I had one gasket and the steel baffle on top of that.
