Simple Question :
Who (in your opinion) builds the best converters for high horsepower Pontiacs ? Who treats their customers right ? I've heard a lot about a bunch of different converter places, and was just curious as to everybody elses experiences.

I'm on my 3rd year with the 3500 Redneck on 550hp in my 78 Catalina. Even my Chebbie buddies are switching from Coan to Redneck.

My guess is whoever you pay the most money to develope the best one for your application. Mike Munsinger is probably one of the best specialty builders in the industry. Continental works for me.

Torque Converter Services
Coloumbia, SC 800 537 7416 Ask for Cameron I went through 2 B&M 10in converters on my blown street car before Cameron hooked me up. For under 500 bucks, he built me a new 10in, custom built to my specs, that footbrakes exactly where he said it would and handles all the power of the blower. Plus, it has a 3 year warranty. -Abone.

Sorry fellas...lol. Our new motor will be in the 1100 hp - 1300 hp (depends on how much sauce we hit it with) range. We are looking to run mid 8's with our "street legal" car. I had a very expensive Coan in there last season...and lets just say I wasnt pleased at all. Car drove right thru the converter (it was begging me for 4th gear in the 1/8th mile)(th400's only have 3 gears ya know..lol). Sent it back after 5 passes...they said nothing wrong with it (but freshened it up ???) put back in car...did exact same thing. So...I was just curious as to some of your experiences. Over the years, I've had ATI, TCI, and this Coan. Was wondering about the suggestions at this level. I'm kinda gun-shy about converters right now...lol
