Default Lower Windshield Trim Removal - Any Tips?

I need to remove the lower stainless w/s trim on my 68 coupe. What is the best way to go about it? I'm not sure what type of clips are used or what tool is best to remove them. I have the arrowhead-type trim tool but I'm not having much luck getting the clips to let go with it.

Thanks

If memory serves me right you have to remove the sides first since they over lap the top and bottom pieces. Been a long time since I romved mine so I could be wrong.

The clips actually slid in the SS channel and are bolted to the body.
You will have to remove your wiper arms, then the cowl panel to get to the screws. There are about 8-10 of them. The ones in the corner can be difficult to put back in though.

Good Luck

to help reinstall use a small square of thin plastic to hold the screw captive.
Masking tape on the fender edge to prevent scratches..

The sides need to come off before the top piece. The lower trim piece can stay in place.
Use a trim remover when taking the sides and upper trim off so you don't break your windshield like I did once or twice upon a time. Eastwood has them pretty cheap.

Any tips for re-installing the windshield trim? I bought my car with all the trim already off and wrapped up in the trunk.

Thanks,
Joe

Which is what the previous owner of my car DIDN'T do! (use the right tool that is...)

I've gotten the driver's side lower outboard trim screw loose enough to remove the moulding but no-go on the pass side yet. No way to get a wrench up in there with the fender on.
