Default radiator clogged? 94 toyota truck

my radiator in my 94 toyota truck keeps spitting up into the overflow container after a short trip and doesnt get sucked back into the radiator, so as i lose coolant each trip/stop and my temps get higher and higher during the day...
no coolant in oil, no oil in coolant, new thermostat (tested it) and new radiator cap. the radiator looks like its flowing across on top and the coolant looks good. could the radiator be clogged in spots and still look like its flowing well? ive had clogged radiators that were quite obvious because you could see all the crap in the coolant, but this one looks good...

The first thing I'd try is a new radiator cap.

The fact that coolant doesn't get sucked back into the radiator from the reservoir means you have a leak somewhere. I think the overheating is probably secondary -- if the system was working properly, coolant would get pushed out the overflow when the engine overheated, but get sucked in when it cooled down.

A head gasket isn't that likely to leak coolant into the oil. If it's blown between the cooling system and cylinder it'll behave exactly like it is. My suggestion is to do a leakdown test with the radiator cap off. When you pressurize the leaking cylinder the coolant level will rise.

Is this a 3.0L v6 engine? They are bad for head gaskets blowing and leaking coolant into #6 cylinder and going out exhaust.

That's a good thought -- never occurred to me. Toyota was covering the head gaskets on that engine under warranty -- don't know if they still are. We had a customer with 120K on his 4Runner, and the Toyota dealer replaced the whole engine for nothing because the deck surface was corroded when they took the heads off.

Toyota will pay to do it once, yes we have replaced many short block due to block corrosion around #6 and #1 cylinders, Not sure if this trucks is applicable but worth looking into at his local dealer.
