I plan on swapping in a v8 over the I6 for my 72' Ventura. Here's the problem, I want to use the TH400 transmission but I don't know which size tailshaft would fit the driveshaft of the ventura. For all of you who have done v8 conversions to a 71-72 x-body, help me out please.
Here's a list of what they in terms of tailshaft size http://www.tciauto.com/Products/GM/g...amatic_400.asp |

4" tailshaft then your best bet is to buy a T400 crossmember for a 67-69 firebird (camaro) from PY as well as a OEM dipstick tube no a silly chrome universal. You could also opt for the Locar flex tube.
You should only have to change out the yoke on your driveshaft from the T350 one (smaller) to the larger T400. It's a simple conversion all and all, just need to do a little planning first.

What exhaust manifolds/headers are you planning on using? Something else to consider when putting a Buick 455 in. No Buick motored car has the "rear steer" other than the Apollo which came with a Buick 350 so you may have clearance problems with stock 455 manifolds or headers for a 455 car
