Keith Black Hemi on nitromethane. Typically ran in the 6.00 range but Dick said he dipped into the 5's on occasion. He was very successful with the car in Division 3, finishing 2nd in Division 3 points standings one year, but on a national scale against the heavy hitters, the cars performance was somewhat mediocre.

Going off this article I scanned from a June 94 of HPP it said it ran mid 11's, and in Jim Hands book it said the car runs well into the 10's (page 10 is a pic of the car) it would have been a significant change in the 370 if in fact it was the same block. Still doesn't answer your question though does it.

I like in the article, they built there own trans adapter with 3/4" plate for the th-400, way before Wilcap or anyone else came along with an adapter.

Sometime after '94, Tom changed to a 455-based engine in the '58 and then ran mid-tens, if I remember right. But then Tom began running the '59, and Sharon ran the '58 quite a lot. But I don't know whether the '58 shortblock went back into the '58.

ho428 - Thanks for the pictures. I have never seen anything like that slingshot/dragster. What is the motor front blower set up all about?!!! That rail looks bad @@s. You are right - you'd need a big set to climb into that beast!

I believe Mickey Thompson had a similar supercharger setup in the late 50's/early 60's. I also believe the image is pages back in this thread. Perhaps the one with the 59 Pontiac station wagon in the background.
