Tom, that is where you are wrong.
I have always believed that the Kauffmans were being backed into a corner over something they have no control over. All of these internet postings have been about the Kauffmans. I brought that Ford/Firestone subject up just for that correlation. You and every one seem to be on Ford's side, but with this KRE subject they are on the opposite side. As I said before, this all would probably have been over with, if not for the internet postings.

If that is the case then John, the Kauffman's should be going after the Foundry for the issues and refunding the money to all of the people who bought the bad blocks, (including Scott Roberts). Sueing a guy who is pi$$ed vs the Foundry (who you say caused the issue) seems to me to be a misguided defination of the root cause. As far as the machining of the blocks go and those issues, they obviously have to fall on the Kauffman's shoulders. Do you agree? Tom V.

i think chris makes a really good point, as i know after the fact i've been guilty of it in the past - in black and white on a screen comments can come over as much harsher, meaner, etc then intended - typing's annoying to everyone, so these exchanges tend to be blunter and "harder" then real-life conversations would be...at least for me - i hate typing, like to keep it short/concise

Obviously John the Soft, Thick, Cast Iron Blocks will live a long time.
The old Flathead and the Model T engines are an example of that deal. I would not want to use a Model T engine in a high performance application. You pay almost $3,000 for a "high performance" block you had better get more than a block that has "high damping capacity of gray cast iron" Tom V. ps John, you have to look at the whole picture and not a little piece here and there when you design a good block.

Polar pontiac. you would buy a block from kaufmans that fits your need, would you buy a block made by Kaufman that came from them, one of their vendors or from a private party? same block same quality and fits yor needs as advertised with the same warrenty period? Would you be willing to do business and purchase a block from them under the same circumstances as "others"? And be willing to accept the same level of quality and customer service?
If you qualify your answer in any way are you willing to hold still and submit to being sued? are you willing to continue to do business with them in a worse case senario others have experienced now that you know what you may or may not expect from them? Essentialy its a crap shoot with no recourse. You stated where you would plant you foot based upon my simple previous question. Where you gonna plant your foot if you get treated the way others have been treated? bearing in mind the threat you made against me for asking a simple question. what are you going to do if you experience the same level of quality and srvice others have experienced? What more will you do if you get sued. I open mu mouth and you threaten to plant your foot in my ass. What are you gonna do if you yourself open your mouth and you get sued. its interesting that the moderators allow you to be profane and threatening like others with out punishment whereas the rest of us... the retribution speakes for itself. it reinforces that which I have already said about the irrisponsable abuse of power in the name of PY. I bet they dint know what continues to be allowed on this forum. By those who support the behavior of some vendors. Last edited by Pontirag; 05-03-2008 at 11:17 PM. |

A.) The thread would be locked down and/or deleted. B.) I'd be on another 30 day suspension. One could argue the reason his statements are standing is because he is a "cheerleader" for the Ohio farmers, but, the thread is staying alive in general. Now where's my...oh, there it is

455Dave if it doesn't take a 30 round clip it isn't worth owning! And I think my barrels that contain the charge are steel or two are SS.
Since the aftermarket and OE racing blocks are going with stonger tensile strength cast iron(I want to saythe new Boss 302 block was 40,000 and is listed as diesel strength) and not going softer I wonder why?? And other that skirting the issue by saying I don't know why other people do what they do no one has stated why if there weren't potential issues the first blocks were recalled!! Doubt they would have been if softer was better in their minds too.

Pontirag, still stirring I see.
I too tried to buy Drunk's engine when it was on epay. He wouldn't sell it. Isn't that against the rules? Sounded like a scam to me. I also posted a thread here to buy one. Only had 1 PM I believe. Everybody must think they are worth quite a bit to not sell them.
