Some info I have sorted out of this mess to date:

1) One of Steve C's machinists, I believe, was the originator of the "Butter Block" label and its relationship to the Brinel Hardness

2) Some of the "Customers" received replacement blocks (Spidels)

3) Some of the "Customers" received a refund of money in exchange
for no future comments about the settlement.

4) Photos were posted showing catastrophic failure of at least two blocks (Spidels) and potential failure "suspected crack" in OMT's block.

5) Brian Baker loves hammering people on the board on a variety of topics. Like an old hound dog in heat. (:>)))

6) John Wallace loves some people in Ohio. He has filed to become an adopted Ohio citizen! JK!

7) DI reminds me of Don Quixote. Heart is in the right spot but the technique needs a little work.

8) Like I said before, I don't think anyone will say that the blocks were cast up by the dairy farmers. The foundry cast up the blocks, pure and simple. A typical racer does not have the tools or money to do a proper check on a part like a block. Typically OEMs do and destroy multiple samples in their testing. Therefore it is a crap shoot when you buy a racing part without quality control checks. Chit happens.

9) More businesses have gone down the tube from poor customer service than any other basic cause (excluding lack of resources).

10) Without the internet, many more people would make bad decisions on where to spend their hard earned money.

11) Thanks Chris C for having this board, the good far outweighs any bad that might ever be assumed.

Tom V.

Tom, nice post. I will try to say this one last TIME. If you have NOT dealt with the Kauffman's, personally or through their business do NOT comment on WHAT type of people they are or how they run their business's. They are GOOD people, they have worked hard for the Pontiac COMMUNITY, they would give you the shirt off their backs AND for you guys who have bad comments about them, come to Norwalk break a part and see who will be there to HELP you with the part and a smile. Do you guys get it or not they are good people. Now if you guys can HANDLE IT, come to Norwalk and find out. Thanks Maurice. PS : All you guys can also come to my trailer, it would be your pleasure to meet ME!!! Thank You Again.

John
I have been watching you post on the Rek subject for a year eversince I posted the photos Brad Spidel sent to me and asked me to post

I am wonder what would happen to the owner of a drag strip if he supported a manufactures part knowing and seeing photos such as the ones I posted last year. Knowing That that manufactures product was defective. What if a racer or spectator was killed when that part failed. you all saw the photos of Brads Block and is Dads,

Would you let that Block run down your race track?

I was Personally sent home from your track because someone didnt like the looks of my 500.00 Aerospace brake calipers. The same calipers that passed tech at Dozens of NHRA tracks around the country & Never failed Before or after I was sent home even after 100's of 160 MPH passes. Personally I think they didnt want me taking the local Purse back to indiana!
1 car was destroyed in Northern Ohio and most people feel brad Spidel's may have been next if I hadent called Him.

Theres a lot of people on here that dont like me but I really dont care, atleast I tell it like it is even if the part is on my own car. Ive Been 160 MPH and seen cars hit the wall & roll in to my lane, I dont care what was made up on this board about me I would post those photos all over again if it saved a car from coming apart.

Its really sad when a company will go to the lenths that they did to make me and others stop posting when all they had to do was say they were wrong and do the recall!
they are doing the same thing to DI never admitting they were wrong, just fighting to shut him up it is stupid!

The worst part is the things they do to shut people up seem to work.

Atleast other companies (no names mentioned to leave it alone) came on the oard and defended ther parts. they didnt just ignore it and try to find ways to shut me up. and there issues (or my oppinion that it was an issue) was not serious like a block failure it was a simple maintaince issue. but atleast they talked about remidies and if there was really a problem they didnt just go lawyer up to shut people up!

I just hope that all your local racers are building Rek blocks to race at your track

GOOD LUCK and let the PY guys know when they get them running so we can buy stock in oil dry & track maintenance equipment companies.
NO PAY RAY

Nobody is giving anything a rest, Mo...least of all me. As new information comes out, it will inevitably be posted here, if not by me, by someone else. As you have said, "HANDLE IT". This court case has turned into something larger than REK or Roberts, and could potentially have serious damaging effects on individual rights, particularly the 1st Amendment, but you being a Canadian, it wouldn't effect you and I can understand why you don't understand or wouldn't care.

Talking

If this goes to court I can see forum boards brought into the senerio. By allowing companies or persons to be slammed. By having a BBS you are allowing all forms of conversation and the owners of the board are aware of it.

English law says if you allow it to stay, without removing negative remarks you are condoning it?
Interesting.

I was given a warning unfairly without the right of appeal or knowing why. Should I take it to court as it is an unfair blemish on my reputation.

Then again my reputation is always in question. LOL.

Gosh I wonder why Bruce F has never thought of this

Maurice Tom V was giving a summary. Please re read some of the posts as previously pointed out by several folks that had hands on experience with multiple episodes, and have stated those facts. Those facts always seem to get skipped over and ignored. They were not treated with respect as consumers. If you would like some CNC shavings to toss in your motor for a ready to run part I have a few left over, but then maybe the UPS guy put them in the sealed bag.

I think Ray said it very well "Its really sad when a company will go to the lenths that they did to make me and others stop posting when all they had to do was say they were wrong and do the recall!
they are doing the same thing to DI never admitting they were wrong, just fighting to shut him up it is stupid! ".

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think he did way back when the slamming got intense. Thus the PY BBS name change.

This could end up hurting them alot worse if the block goes to court.
Better put it in a safe place DI.

How can it be determined that statements of fact can harm a crook but not the crooks own behavior. Where do you draw the line between what you do to your self and your own image with your unethical and crooked behavior and the behavior of others trying to stop your behavior and recover damages,

If I cry out "STOP! THIEF!" and it causes a criminal to be apprehended should I then be allowed to be sued because he lost income and now has an image problem. Sounds like our public school system

I'm still for the second amendment. It picks up the slack where the courts and the laws dont.

STOP THIEF!

two man enter one man leaves

pontiac dude, You are right. Why does PY's moderators slam us in a public forum causing us ridicule hatred and harm. Why should we be shunned and avoided by right thinking people not due to our actions but due to the actions of moderators who intentionally post disrespectful and unflattering warnings. They do this with out due process and inconsistantly. and with out the opportunity of recourse.

How you doing now autie bea. PY willing to risk all in support of you now?

are there any unemployed lawyers in the house? I might have a job for you.

Drunk'nInjun-I hope it all works out the best for you.

Bringing problems with any product out in the open is a benefit to all.

Recent article on Hurst wheels showed his goal was to make the safest wheel out there and did want to know when they would fail. That is the correct business attitude, to accept problems and resolve them.

Very well put. Now this is a smart business man. Anything less than this, is poor business attitude. Jesus mistakes happen all the time, and we all know it was NOT done on purpose. All they had to do was go good on a few piddley ass pieces of metal. Not a big deal if done in the first place, not only that but then people would have thought WOW these guys are great to deal with and they would have been hero`s instead of chumps. Money lost on the bad crap, would have been money made in the end, and there would have been no end in sight. Now who knows, all because of a poor business decision. Now it does not matter what product they sell, some gomer is going to bring this up and tarnish it. Now what will happen is the people in the future that do not no about this, will read it, or hear it, and will not do business with them. In this day and age with mail order parts, the internet and what not, customer satisfaction is #1 or you have no customers. Jesus this is going around the world. Right or wrong, in the eyes of the people who do NOT know, they are wrong, that`s human nature. And when people think your wrong they won`t take a chance on there money with you. Sad Sad situation, for them not anybody else...........................

What's a "straw man award" and can you tell me where Tom Vaught and Ken Keefer (aka PontiacDude) fit into the hierarchy of your "lemming-link" below?

Which of the three cheerleaders represents you? Maurice?
