Nice doggy ! Myself, I got the interior out of the car. Funny how these mice like to roam around the headliner and even the sunvisors. Before I took my seat to the upholster, I found stuffing out of the backseat make its way to the inside of the console where they made their nest. I have mouse poison and sticky pads in the car now...no more mice since.

I had one mouse dead in my 65 GP with droppings and urine all over the car when I had it in storage for 4 months. It smelled real bad! Took almost a week to take everything out and clean it.

for the odor of mice find a car brite dealer and buy some of the product "malodor" or it's equivilent.

I should have taken a pic of it but the critters pulled the fuzzy carpet off the door panels and took a complete bic pen from inside the Blazer and made a nest in the intake manifold area.They chewed thru the injector wires as well as a few spark plug wires.Dont know what they were going to do with the bic pen,perhaps find some paper and write a letter?

Dryer sheets have always worked for me. Heard that using Bay leaves works too but haven't given it a try.

get a garage cat..when i moved into my neighborhood(backs up to open space) people complained about my cats..(i think im down to around 10 now)...now nobody has a rodent problem, and everyone is friendly with the kittys..get a female as they are less trouble..get her spayed and enjoy..

2 of my cars are outside year round. looks like i'm going to have to up the amount of traps and put them in more locations. never heard of the dryer sheets, going to give them a try also. what's the effictive life of them, how long do they last before they need to be changed? is one brand better then another?

I had horrible mice problems that I ended up curing with poison, sticky traps, and mechanical traps. We keep a bucket w/ a loose lid on it it in the garage to collect the cleanup of the cat box every week and I think the mice can smell the "cat" smell because we have never had a single mouse. The neighbors across the street have all kinds of them and do not have a cat. I'll deal w/ cleaning a cat box if it means no more destroyed interiors! irgoatmike

I've trie4d bounce sheets and peppermint oil neither work.

Mice like rats run along the walls so I put a few on the glue traps with chesse in the middle or in a postion where they'll have to walk in the glue to get it in a couple of spots along the walls in my barn and have found a few of the traps in other places in the barn some with mice some w/out but I have never had a mice in my car.

Agreed. I've used the Decon brand, triangular-shaped mouse poison along the edge of the garage walls & have had good luck. Apparently, the mice eat the poison, then get dehydrated, seek water, then die when they can't find any. I found a dead one in a container of old antifreeze that was on the garage floor one time. You can see when some of the poison is missing from the trap...

somebody somewhere suggested irish spring soap. Tried it and all it did was provide a meal for the mice. They ate it and still occupied the car.

OK Guy's...Here is a solution to your mice / mouse issues. My credientials are this: I have been a fur trapper for well over thirty five years and have dealt with all kinds of critters, mostly large rodents but I have a lot of experience with mice. A solution to your problems with mice is this:

Take a five gallon bucket w/o the lid and cut a small "V" on the rim of the bucket (each side) opposite of each other and place an aluminum arrow shaft (or smooth dowel rod) across the "V"'s and on the arrow shaft place a light weight aluminum can such as a pop can or beer can, one end going through the opening and the other through the bottom in the center and make sure this rotates nice and smooth.

Next step is to take a small plank / board / ramp, ect... and place it on the floor and on the bucket rim 90 degrees to the arrow shaft then place about three or four inches of ethelene glycol (anti-freeze) in the bucket, the reason I reccomend ethelene glycol is that it is a preservative and the mice will not stink if the bucket is left in a vehicles trunk or back seat area or cabin, motor home, ect...for long peroids such as all winter long plus it will not freeze during the winter months. Water is fine and works just as well but the mice will stink in a day or two.

Now take a little peanut butter and smear it on the pop can, about 1/4 of the can is fine and then take bacon grease and smear that on another 1/4 of the can (just a couple different scents to attract the mice).

Here is what happens as you can visualize: The mice enter the garage , vehicle, cabin, ect...they smell the "meal" and hit the ramp and run it to the end, they smell and see the can and leap from the ramp to the can, the can spins and they drop into the ethelene glycol / water and drown.

This works gentleman, it works like a charm and catches multiples in one night. I keep one in my garage year around and in the winter a smaller version in the actual car (GTO). I have caught up to 13 mice in one night in peoples attics with this set up. Once you use this method your mice issues will go away. DEAD mice don't tell their little buddies where a place to camp out is. I hope this solves your mice challenges. Good Luck.

Many of the previous methods can work for catchig mice, and I have enjoyed real success with peanut butter as bait. Snap traps are cheap, quick, and easy to use. But, as long as you have a hospitable environment for the mice, they will keep coming back. The only way to continually keep them out, without endless and constant maintenance of the traps, is to get a cat. Let him do the "maintenance" for you. (Just clear out the antifreeze buckets first).

Mice ate the peanut butter and sh!t all over the place. Cheese and raw fruit has ensnared 2 so far...

The problem with cats is they can do as much or more damage than the mice! The dang things climb all over your car scratching the paint with their claws. Even our declawed cat manages to scratch the heck out of our cars trying to climb up the sides to get on top to sleep. They knock stuff down, scratch at stuff, track oil or whatever all over the place, leave hair everywhere, and they stink. If the kids weren't so attached to our cat it would already be gone. Once my '67 is repainted there will never be a cat at my house again.

Well I have had a problem with mice in everything I have left sitting outside for just a couple of days, even with stuff I have parked in my barn. I have tried Irish Spring, Bounce, traps with peanut nutter, cats and anit freeze but 2 years ago I started soaking cotton balls in that peppermint oil and placing anyplace I though mice would like to stay and havent seen one since. They loved the inside of my boat in the winter but I put that stuff under the seats and back around the motor and in all storage compartments and havent seen a turd yet!!!!!! I put the cotton balls in dixie cups so the stuff doesnt stick or make a mess plus after you remove the cups the smell stays in the cup so your car or RV or boat doesnt always smell like RumpleMints!!!
