Default 1960 full size front swaybar removal

The front swaybar setup on the '60m is basically the same as for the 1961-64 big cars, and I do have the manual. It says to drop one a-arm from its frame connection in order to remove the bar. Probably a stupid question, but has anyone removed one of these without dropping the a-arm as stated in the manual? I'd like to clean mine up and redo all the bushings / links ----- or possibly use it for a pattern for a larger dia. one---but don't relish dropping the a-arm if possible.

Thx for any feedback.

The manual is correct. When I updated the sway bar on my 64 Bonneville, I cut the old one off and installed a later, beefier bar, ( I don't remember what year it was off of ) which was routed differently. I just had to drill 4 new holes for it.
