Hi Guy's finished my 66 GTO resto. It has won sponsors choice, best of show and best muscle pre 1980. Thought it came out perfect. would like to hear other GOAT Guy's comments. Check it out at Freds GTO .com.
Thanks for your review

Default 66 GTO resto

Yes, this web site was developed my my family for me on fathers day last year. Good memory.
I noticed my resto photo manual from the shop had dissapeared and no one is fessing up to it, so I beleive they are doing something to the website for this fathers day.
The comments from you guys mean a lot to me. We only started out to restore a goat like my orginal, but you know how it goes, one thing leads to another and at a point money doesn't mean a whole lot so you just keep going. After all, when you are at baby boomer age normally we have completed college, paid off all the school loans and raised the kids so it's time to splurge on yourself.
Thanks to all again
Fred

Fred,
The car looks great. Mine is in the body shop right now in the middle of a frame off, so I know how much time you put into making all of the parts decisions and choices.
If you want opinion, 2 things I wonder about, the ride height seems high, maybe it will come down a bit, new springs? Also, why the 2 speed trans, why not use a TH400 or a 4 speed? I don't hear too many talking about the positives of the powerglide on the forum, mine is a 67, this was never an issue. How is the cooling system, do the 2 electric fans keep the car cool in summer traffic?

Great job,
Scott

Nice job! My 'bird is burgundy, could you shoot over the paint code/mfg# for the brand you used? That's a nice shade...

FYI...

The Pontiac 2 speed is a Super 300, not a powerglide.

When I started researching my 326/455 swap, that's the first thing everybody told me - get rid of the Super300, it's a boat anchor!

Default ST 300 Tranny

Thanks for the comment guys. You are right ,the 300 is a anchor and I am going to change it out this winter.Thats what was in the car and we ran out of time to make the change.
Scott, your correct, the stance is a little high but I needed the clearence for the meats in the back and for the 15x 225 's in the front.
Paul, the color code is N Burgundy and the manu. is DUPONT. I have 6 coats of base and 3 of clear.
Thanks again guys ,Remember to watch for a updated website this week.
Fred

Wait, did I say anchor? I meant speed boat, it'll make your car go faster...and I just happen to have one that's been rebuilt, it's only got a few thousand miles on it and I'll sell it to you CHEAP!!!
