Question Which balancer??

Which balancers are people running?

Motor is 468 (400 bored .060, 4.25 Eagle stroker crank, Eagle 6.8 rods, custom lightened Diamond pistons, 330 cfm CNC ported E heads, big solid roller)

Machine shop recommends aluminum balancer. Car is 67 Lemans convertible, 4-speed, street car but will see occassional track time once everything is upgraded to be safe and legal.

Don't like Fluidampr because you have to redrill bolt pattern (stupid for new part),
ATI Super Damper?
Summit brand?
Romac?
Professional products?
Do they still make BHJ?
Need to get on ASAP!

Thanks

I'm running a Romac steel/aluminum combo balancer. The quality of the balancer is top notch and fit perfectly. About the only other balancer I would consider would be the BHJ, but it won't accept stock a/c pulleys, plus their steel/aluminum version is heavier than the Romac steel/aluminum version. FYI, unless your engine is going to be a pure drag strip engine, I would not recommend running an all aluminum balancer. For anything street driven, a steel/aluminum balancer is the lightest you can safely use.

What part number for the Romac and where did you get it? Cost?

Thanks

Still making BHJs. Just got mine back. Seemed it slipped a few degrees and had a wobble but the SFI 1's are able to be rebuilt.

Mine is the 0223SA model, which weighs 6.87 lbs. I purchased my Romac directly from the U.S. distributor http://www.rollmasterusa.com/, who also had the best price I could find. If I remember correctly, I paid around $220.00.

Thumbs up Another choice.....................

Pioneer SFI balancer: around $140 from Summit, takes the stock pulleys, and requires NO honing for a slip-fit like the stockers.
