Paint on exhaust
How do or can I get over spray off of my exhaust????
Dumb a$$ at body shop never covered my tail pipes, and have over spray all over them. No it not fresh paint any more 6 months with 500 miles on car now, I just can't take it any more. Dominick

You can hit 'em with a wire wheel to see if it'll come off. Another option is to cover up the body color paint with some high temp silver (or black, or any other color that suits your fancy).

Try laquer thinner and 0000 steel wool should clean right up, also the steel wool won't scratch the metal.

Having the paint on there for so long might have baked it on. Definitely try paint thinner. If the pipe is aluminized, thinner won't take off the aluminizing. sanding or scratching the paint will and then you will see rust quickly appear. If the pipes are stainless, you can sand, grind, scratch etc the paint off. Painting the entire visible area of the tailpipe is also an option.
