) back in '84 from the second owner who had tried (from what I can tell) to make it a "Bandit" car. I got the PH papers for it and from what I can tell it didn't come with a bird so "they" put a gold bird and some snow flakes on it. Somewhere along the line they put a 1970 RAIII engine in it too which back when we were stupid 19yr old kids we didn't know about we just thought someone had put a cam and headers on the car and that's why it ran better than a stock '74 would have. I didn't find out what the engine really was until 2002 when I started to get the car rebuilt. I had already bought all the parts and had all the machine work done to the engine before I truly realized what I had or I would have just sold the whole thing (engine) on eBay. As it is I sold the heads and manifold off it for $850 and the carb (7040273) for $2775 and the carb appeared to have the incorrect base plate, possibly off the original '74 carb. That helped a bunch since I was laid off at the time!
