Greetings,
I've noticed an issue with my driver-side lower-door hinge. Here's a picture of the 'good' one on my passenger door: http://pages.cthome.net/lenbo/DSC06202.JPG Now here's the one on the driver-side: http://pages.cthome.net/lenbo/DSC06203.JPG http://pages.cthome.net/lenbo/DSC06204.JPG I only recently noticed that the top of the pin looks bent. I have had a problem with the driver door not staying all the way open all the time for a while. Now I'm wondering how to correct this. Would this require a door hinge pin, washer or entire door hinge replacement? Thanks in advance! |

looks like the bushing is shot and it's started the wear on the detent and roller. depending on what is bad, it could be just a bushing to completely replacing the lower hinge

Thanks. Is it possible to take off only the lower hinge? And/or is it possible to only remove the pin in question to replace the bushing without removing the whole hinge?
(Sorry for the questions - I've never removed/rebuilt/replaced hinges.) |

Yes it's possible to remove only one hinge. you'll need a floor jack to do it tho. A block of wood and a towell to keep from damaging the paint isn't a bad idea either.
Do the hinge in a vise. Mike
