I know there is a lot of folks that like the Rally II's, but for me, nothing compares to the snowflakes on a 79 TA. That is what I am putting on mine. They are aluminum, not steel, and they look right.

When I see the Rally II's on a 79 TA, I automatically assume it is not a WS6 and must be a plain Janer.

I also have a set of 10th anniversary turbo wheels I will put on mine when I am in the mood for a change.

The Rally II's DO tend to look MUCH better on the earlier cars.

On a T/A,from 74 on up,they pretty much NEED the pizzaz of Honeycombs,Snowflakes,Turbo's,etc.

A base bird,Formula OR Esprit can get by with Rally's & look GREAT.

If you had a stone stock looking "stripper " T/A,the Rally's would be GOOD,almost like the Poverty Cap look.

What about the white painted turbo's, paint them the same color as the car.
A friend did this on a custom white third gen and it looked pretty good.

8" Rally II's change the looks quite a bit, don't know how to describe it, the aggressive stance with the old style wheel, eye catcher anyway.

I think it needs something different with the pearl white, the snow flakes would have to be extra bright.

Paint the snowflakes gold with the aluminum exposed ribs like on an SE. That would look awesome.

I totally agree with the above statements. 77 and later T/As at the bare minimum need snowflakes if you are going for a factory look. Ralleys look cheap on them.

I kinda like both. My 78 has a set of restored 8" snowflakes and they look great on it, but I also had a set of the 15 X 8 rally II's on it, and that really looked nice too. Sometimes I think I liked them better. All my non-Pontiac friends thought I was crazy for putting the snowflakes on, they said it made it look like a "Disco-Wagon"

I guess I would have to agree the snowflakes really look nice on later car's. On my 74 Trans Am I am restoring my original rally II's without trim rings. I think they look great on a white Trans Am like my 74. I also have a set of the Polycast Honeycombs but I doubt they ever see any use.

Snowflake wheels definitely. I disagree on the gold......unless
you have gold decals, I think the grey background snowflakes look better on a white car. here's a pic of mine.....

I would go with the argent snowflakes with blue decals. I like the gold snowflakes with red graphics since they have touches of gold along with the red and orange.

Right now there are Centerlines on the car. I will definately get the original Snowflakes re-done. It is either right away or after purchasing a set of Wheel Vintiques Rally II's. I agree that the grey would look great with the pearl white to tone it down a bit and set the wheels off. That is why I am leaning towards the Rally II without a trim ring. Does anyone have any pictures of Rally II's on a white bird??????

You know,it's FUNNY,but whenever I see a Firebird or T/A (other than a 70/71 T/A) that has Rally II's without trim rings, the first thought that comes into my mind is that somebody has stolen the rings & the owner is TOO CHEAP to replace them.

(It just looks like somethings MISSING!)

I am definately not a fan of the trim ring on the Rally II's. I took them off of my 71 HO car and liked that look a lot better. My 79 TA is far from stock and I want the car to look mean and understated, thus my affinity with the Rally II's!
