Cool So I've become the official "Bandit" of Due West, SC

Due West is this tiny college town in the upstate of SC. It's about 7 miles from my house and my shop. It has a Subway which I go to for lunch pretty much daily. Its the closest place to get anything from a resteraunt. Anyways, I drive my '78s daily as well. I've noticed they have a couple new cops on patrol in the area. The last week or so I've noticed one of them giving me the "evil eye" as I drive through town and go in and out of the stores. I went to Subway just now and the Chief ( who just walks around and talks to people ) walks up to me and warns me that the new lady cop has it out for me. She was complaining that the car was too loud and she was gonna stop me as soon as I gave her a reason. I said no problem and reminded him that every piece of equipment on the car was 50 state legal and I wasn't doing anything wrong in the first place. All it did was fire me up to be even more "loud" in the car.

I can't tell you how bad I wanted to use the quote, "Sheriff, do the letters F-O mean anything?" LOL.....

If she starts busting my balls about the exhaust I'm going to order some 1 chamber flows and put on it to give her something to complain about.. I heard tonight that she gave 70 or so tickets to the incoming college kids in the past week for petty stuff. Sounds like she has major issues.

My brother just moved to Seneca which is close to Clemson. Is that the college town you speak of?

No, Clemson is about an hour northwest of here. The college in Due West is called Erskine University. I think its a private christian college. It's a nice town and after living here for 3 years I have never had a problem there. I've been to Seneca. I looked at a '66 GTO in Six Mile about a year ago which is right down the street.

Default due west

I"m in Greer. It's not bad here. I was in the reserve program 16 years ago and most everyone knows me and my 79TA. It's fairly loud with the original 400 and the 4" side pipes, but will be really loud when the 455 goes in-500-600hp-11-1 comp and roller cam, but I take it easy most of the time. I think if you play it cool for awhile you will end-up being respected as not being a troublemaker. Remember noise violations are officers discretion and it's not a moving violation so no ins worry. Maybe we can have a meet in your town in the spring and they will see how lucky they are only having you there.
Good luck, David
