326 Oil pump gasket?
Hello, I am new to Pontiac's, but have been building Honda/Acuras for 20 years so engines are not new to me.
I am rebuilding a 65 Tempest Custom 326 and as I am installing the oil pump I looked through the gasket set and cannot find anything that looks like a oil pump gasket. So, I looked at the list of gaskets and did not find it listed. What's up do I use some kind of sealant or? |

Skip the 2-bolt Oil pump gasket and simply spread a thin film of Silicone RTV, tighten to torque set.

Pump Gasket..
Use a gasket, i install them dry. If you buy a new oil pump a gasket should be in the box but it may be all torn up from the pump moving around in the box. I enclosed my e-mail address, send me your name and address and i will get a couple of the gaskets in the mail to you, the gaskets are on me as i have a few here. Also welcome to the PY board. No problem, gaskets are on the way to you. You are new to the Pontiac engine and that is fine. If you have a question about a Pontiac you will get the info you need on this board.
