wow, thats more what it feels like....120 mph....the rear end is offset to the driver side by an inch..i am afraid joel was not the fab guy for ladder bars..it looks funny, but it will run for pinks..then we will fix it..the rest of the car was finished nicely..he sure put some time in it..

thanks for the good info.

Sounds like maybe the motor had an allergic reaction to something else.Did like the comment about the front wheels and the pavement though, lmao.

wow did we find a lot of things wrong on teardown..AND WHEN WE RELEASED "TORQUE STRAP"IT JUMPED UP SO HIGH IT BROKE THROTTLE LINKAGE..he had it cranked down with turnbuckle so valve cover would clear i guess..i am sure he thought he was doing the correct thing..

but wait, theres more..the bores were "chamfered for intake valves" so hard the motor thinks its a 4.362 bore..serious..both head gaskets blown..pistons scuffed good..it was sluggish, we just broke it loose..nice ross pistons with lite pins..then they used pressed pin eagle h-beams..what a maroon, that built this thing..

on the good side, as far as i can tell, the hughes th400 and verter are ok..woo-woo..

You're more trusting than me. The very first thing I do when I get an engine from someone is open it up and check it out good. I would NEVER throw it in and run it as is. Too many unknowns. A lot of time and effort could have been spared had you taken a look. Good lesson here for everyone.

whole car was together probird..it seemed ok except for a little low on oil pressure,(which may be builder preference), and it seemed sluggish at first..lol..it was partly seized up..we got it broke loose in a big way..
