Default rear end ID

10 bolt,told had 8.2 355 richmond gear,but has round cover.only num i can find is 9783393.richmond does not make 3.55 for 8.5 rear,trying to figure out what this thing is.cant get **** off street section,try here.

thats enough info to tell us its a 66-7 A body (or 67 F body) rear.
spring mounts will tell which body and casting date will tell which year.
I assume since youre posting this in the A body section that its an A body rear.
It will be an 8.2 rear.

in 66 goat.round cover is chrome aftermarket,but that is the odd ball deal.i know olds made some pretty funky stuff in late 60s,main concern is if housing is as strong as pontiac rear.dont have money for 9in ford right now,would like to put 3.55 gear and aurburn l/slip in it.
