'81 Turbo T/A, body colored inner fenders from the factory?!?
The inner fenders form my '81 (Turbo) Trans Am are painted body color; silver.
Initially I though someone did this when they swapped the 301T for a 400 engine... But I took a better look and it really appears to me as if these were painted silver from the factory. My car was built in Norwood dec.1980. Export model for Germany, Europe. It is an all original, paint interior etc. 70K mile car. except for the engine swap. Really looks like factory silver painted inner fenders, the clips and screws holding the fenders aren't painted and there's no overspray on other parts. Fenders are black on their backsides as is the firewall. Could this be original?!? Or do I have to paint em black to look "correct"?

NOT silver from the factory.
The only ones that came with bodycolored inners were the Y-84's & Code 19 (Starlight Black) cars. What color is the underside of your hood? |
