Good looking car for that price. You will be a happy young man when it gets up and running. By the way the Firebird is the first car I bought when I turned 18 for $500 and now I am 38 and will never sell it.

Looks like you scored! Hope the body's in as good of shape as it appears in the pics.
Get it to a carwash, pressure wash the engine compartment, a little black and Pontiac blue paint and it'll be a real looker.

First and second pic there is a cross in front of the rear quarter. Is it a grave?

Check the engine's casting numbers, the presence of the valve covers and a Holley suggest that there's a chance that someone swapped motors? Nice score...

Congrats Wyatt!
Oh, the memories of my first car! My buddies and I would be in continous competition. The girls, the parties, the beer, the street racing and the cops! Those were the days! Its been 30 years and I still remember the fun I had in that car. The beauty of this all is that I can just sit back and close my eyes and it all comes back! Thats because I still have my first car! He! He! Better yet, look at what my first car is! And, yes that is a REAL ram air IV judge! Have fun Cat |

Congrats and welcome aboard!
I love post coupe's...my LeMans is a post coupe, and if I ever buy a 64 A-body it'll also be a post coupe! Ronnie, one of the characters on that show "The Shield" drives a 70's post coupe LeMans...bit of a beater...cool!!!

That's a score for 800.00, rat or not. I hope you flushed him out of there before you hauled it home!
Welcome to the forums. Mike

Congrats Wyatt! While others are thinking of getting a Civic and putting goofy stuff on it, you went for something a little different that will have character and provide you with some great memories.
Just a little advice, dont worry about making it fast or painting it just yet. Clean it up, make sure everything works on it, especially the brakes, and drive it. Enjoy it before life gets in the way and suddenly that engine swap or paint job you were doing stalls and you havent moved the car in 20 years. That is a great first car, just enough power to get in trouble, but not so much you will break stuff all the time. It also isnt a generic crap box with a 4 cylinder in it. You done good man.. This is a great place for information and help, plenty of knowledgeable people here who know Pontiacs better than they know themselves. |
