Perhaps. But the catalog (spelled catalogue in the link. French Canadian??) lists the fit as 22387, 22487 & 22687.
I'm thinking, IMHO, that Pontiac may have considered continuing the 1st Gen. Firebird 400 plan with a 400 emblem for the trunk lid, but canceled the plan before volume production started, but after the emblems had been ordered from an outside vendor.

Seems to me,the illustration in the parts catalog clearly showed it on the right rear lower corner of the deck lid for the 22687 model.......now to find the book I saw it in...

nope, this trunki badge is 100% specific to the '70 Formula 400 - and appears to be a part which was discontinued from production vehicles early on;
I believe a couple of my MPC's list it, but I have never seen one before.

This mentions models in the trim section, doesnt exclude the std, or Esprit in the single part number either.
Pontiac Marketing was gearing for a Firebird 400, and with good reason, they had a successful one already.

I am posting here rather than create a new thread. What are the bolt specifications for the bolt that screws into the rear of the alternator for the rear bracket on 1970 models? I am missing the bolt.

What do you look for to confirm you have a 70 core support? Pictures would be great.

The stamped baffle area is different. Picture one is of a 1970 core support and shows the bracket for the evap cannister (used only on cars sold new in CA.) Picture two shows a 71 core support in front of a 70 core support. Picture three shows a 71 style evap canister and bracket.

Hmmm.... that's interesting. I have a core support that I got from an 06A Norwood '70 T/A (still has its original tune up decal...) that looks like the '71 core support in your picture. I wonder if this was another "running change"....?

I haven't read through each post on this one. I found this out just this past weekend. 1970 Firebird accelerator pedal and throttle cables are one year only. Ames was the only place I could find a new replacement cable. The mounting at the pedal is what makes it a one year only piece.

It's in there but for the carb end.
The carb end uses a stud instead of a ball connector.
So you would have found that out also with a 71-newer.

70 pedal, stainless trim was not factory installed on this one which came out of an Esprit.

The screw part number is 9420425 I tried to see if AMK has them (their site appears to be down at the moment) but they're the same as used on the glove box door catch and where the drop arm attaches to the door. Interesting considering that the assembly manual has a page dedicated to their installation.
