I have to say this is the first time I have ever seen a notchback bench in a 66'.
I new they were offered but just up till now never seen one.
This one is even more strange being in a four door??
Check it out..

I know of a decent '67 GTO split bench w/armrest that may be for sale. I believe shipping may be an issue. I'll check. Ron

Jeff...that ebay auction is such a tease. that is the seat i need.

Ron, let me know what you find out. if the price is right and the seller doesnt mind messing with shipping it we might have a deal.

Buy it man!
That seat is 100% correct & IMO worth about $2-300.00.
Resell all the other parts and make some cash

If anyone buys that car I would like the steering wheel.
Jeff I agree,never seen a notchback seat in a 66,let alone a 4 dr.
Ill have to research the options list to see if that was possible.
Going from memory the notchback was only available on the LeMans or GTO.

Edit
Just went thru my 66,67 literature and found,as suspected that NO 66 had the fold down arm rest.
67 only for LeMans&GTO in parchment or black only.

Man, if I wasn't so far away I'd buy that 4dr. It sure would make a great restoration project.

But seeing it's a 4dr, I wouldn't think it's has the folding seat backs like Vic needs.

hmm, i wonder why the re pop upholstery people would make it then?

i just asked the seller if it doesnt sell if he would be interested in selling just the front bench seat. we will see what he says.

i think it would be a good investment to buy it and part it out but my girlfriend would KILL me if she came home and saw that old thing in the drive way.

Cammer,
I'll have to disagree.
My 66' Interior Cat shows/list the Notchback Bench and seems to be listed for 4dr Lemans only?? so might not be 100% correct on 2drs and/or Tempest, again??
The one in the auction is a Lemans as it has the Tail panel. That is not used on the Tempest.

Jeff what is the option code for that?
Literature didnt show anything on options dated as of Mar 16,1966.
Only the recliners, headrests, and power bench or bucket.
The dealer album section titled Interior trim (all series) doesnt show the LeMans 4 dr hdtp for some reason.I dont have a full 66 dealer album, only parts of it.This must have been a very late addition to 66 model year.
I would like to see the seat back to see if it has tilt. My guess is that since its a 4 dr hardtop it would be fixed and therefore wont work on a 2 dr.I had a 67 parchment interiored with power seat that had armrest. I struggled with using in my 67 Tempest Sprint but my wife ,who at that time, was the primary driver said no.
Im guessing only a handful of 67 GTOs had a power bench seat with armrest but that car is long gone.

Sorry can't be of much help with Code as I too am working with bits & pcs.
This is from a dealer foldout dated 8-65.
This type of bench doesn't show up in the larger cats I have as well??

Howevre on a sidebar the headrest for the Bench seat are shown?? Go figure?

If you look at the one in the 4dr being auctioned it sure looks like a folding back seat.
might ask the seller on that one.
As stated this is the first time I've seen one myself so I'm learning as I go

I see no bids on it so far with only 26 hours left for bidding. Vic, you'd best jump on it or you'll kick yourself on Jan 1st. Heck, the girlfriend might even like it and want it restored for herself, and the kids. That car is a keeper.

Note: this is just my only. LOL

Right as rain!
wonder why it doesnt show up in the options and accessories price and group catalog?
Maybe just the opposite of what I was thinking. Early production but not a big seller so it was dropped?
Wonder what the build date is on it?

Arrow UPDATE;

RE: 1966 SEAT CODES.

FWIW After this post I was woundering why 66' had NO code for Bench seat listed??

Seems that the Strato Bench seat (RPO 568) was offered but NO changes to the seat code(s) were made.
So 66' seat code would not show weather it was Bucket or Bench.

In 67' they started using Bench seat codes.

(The above is from the resto guide)
So I feel somewhat safe that it is correct.
