Even More 1971 Stuff
I am missing the bracket that holds the heater control valve in place. Any source for these besides the junkyard?
Mine is a convert and I am missing one of the plastic bushings that goes in the top of the lift cylinder "eye". Suggestions? Thanks |

Are you sure it is missing? Not all a/c cars had the valve. Mine is a late 71---6/71 production from Framingham---no valve. I went nuts buying a valve --looking for a mount thinking it was missing on my car when it never had one.

Well, you may be right. It had a big wire tie around it when I got it, so I assumed something was missing. Most of the others I have seen had the bracket.
Thanks |

Do you have an "extra" vacuum hose coming through the firewall to connect to it? I believe the originals had a red or marroon stripe on the hose.

I don't remember what color stripe it had. I replaced it with just a black hose over 20 years ago. Sorry

I have a 70 and 72. The only difference between the two (that I can tell) is a vaccum "T" that sends that marron stripped vaccum line to the heater valve. If you don't have that "T" (under the dash by the A/C box), than maybe you did not have the valve.
