Core Support Bushings help
I am replacing my core support bushings. I removed the bushings that were in there. I'm certain they were replaced about 8-9 years ago so they are not the originals. But I have the Energy Suspension kit, and after setting the new ones in. There is quite a bit of difference in height. See my pic.
It's not yet tightened, I just set the parts in and lowered the core support off the jack. They are loose in there... The old one is in the pic. Any comments?

OK I figured it out. I was prying between the Bumper bracket and the core support. I hammered a metal wedge in there to hold it apart while I installed the new bushings. And the bumper support stayed in the new lower position.
Where should I pry apart?

I think you have the bushings for the 70 to 75 core suport and you have a 1976 up core support.

Hmm That's possible. I got them in there and it all tightened down nicely.
What distinguishes the 70-75 core support and the later core supports? I can see a date code on top near the hood latch under the paint. I have never scrutinized it but If memory serves me it is a 79 date. I'll check that
