47 Days 'til Dayton. Last night I finished the console install. I think most would be hard pressed to tell there's a Tremec under there. If I made a custom shifter handle I could get the '64 shifter plate to work, but this bolt on handle is just too tall. I'm OK with the boot for now. The console top just clears the heater outlet with the raised tunnel.

And today's progress is the interior is essentially finished. The front and rear glass go in Friday. I think I'll be focusing on getting this thing fired soon.

43 Days 'til Dayton. The glass is in. The installer did a nice clean butyl job. Everything is now on the outside of the car except wipers and antenna mast. I installed the drip rails and grilles. I used the aqua trunk mats because they look better with this color car. The jack and spare are installed. I have a more correct wing nut/washer and hook coming. Is this the correct placement for the jack mechanism? Also, they sell a sticker for the 64 jack, but I haven't installed it yet. Is that another one like the "Don't spill fuel" sticker that maybe shouldn't be there?
So now I've moved on to electrical debugging. Several issues. The first is no brake lights and no front left turn signal. I've got power in and out of the brake switch, so I figured it was the new turn signal switch I installed. I found my old one from the pile of don't throw away parts and plugged it in and all's well. Shouldn't have changed it. So this afternoon's project will be swapping out the turn signal switch. I hope not to remove the whole column and do it in the car. We'll see. Other electrical issues: -The two speed wipers don't park. I checked the ground, no change. I've got another motor on order. I thought I bench tested this one, but must not have checked for park. -Underdash courtesy light not working (dome works). -Console courtesy light not working (glove box works, console box works). -Fried two of my new T3's when first turned on, they smoked inside the bulbs, crap parts. Another set is on order. -RR Defroster works, but squeals. I had that motor all apart and bench tested with no issues also. I must have bound something up installing it. And the saga continues...

It's pretty easy to swap the Turn Signal switch in the car (non-tilt).
Car looks great!

The car looks so good it would take forever to compliment all of it .
But i have to ask if the steering wheel is maybe the wrong color ... it just looks like wrong shade . it sorta sticks out a lil bit Just curious if that is the way they were ? |

I understand what you see Baron. I think what I have for the wheel color is at least close to correct. I haven't seen a dark blue steering wheel. They all look like this:

Hi Ron, You have PS and PB. Are you going to put the chrome trim on your pedals?? I'll get a trunk pic later today. "Bill"!

bill, maybe I confused everyone. The car in post 249 is not mine. That's just an example of a blue steering wheel not matching the dark blue interior, which I found online. Notice the contrast between the wheel and column. This is the same blue that was on the steering wheel now in my car, before it was recast.
Regarding the pedals, yes, mine have the stainless trim on them as seen in the first picture of post 243, which is my interior. Thanks in advance for the jack orientation picture.

39 Days 'til Dayton. As 6 Grrrs confirmed, it's not too bad to remove the turn signal switch with the column still in the car. Not fun, and a little nerve racking not to scratch anything on the column, but possible. I did get my old switch back in the column and now all of my exterior lights function properly. Also replaced the wiper motor and they now park correctly, so I installed the arms/blades. Everything is now on the exterior and interior of the car. All of the fluids are in. I did struggle with a leaking thermostat housing but it's fixed (for now). Just need to finish up the A/C parts under the hood. Waiting for custom A/C lines to arrive mid-Jun. The plan is to start the car this Saturday, fingers crossed.

Wow, just beautiful, and that sound!
I hope to get down to Haydocy to see it, if not, Dayton. Would you mind if I shared the video on the GTOAA facebook page?
