I have an Offenhauser intake on my 400, i noticed there was what looks like a crank case vent boot on the valley pan underneath it. Since this intake does not have the separation in it like a factory intake, how can i utilize the vent or should i pull the intake and close it off somehow? Do you guys have any suggestions? Is this a really good intake or should i replace it with one that more resembles the factory intake?

With that intake and since you've got the PCV in the valve cover, you should've put somekind of plug in the hole. Or at least get it covered up where nothing can get in it.

Intakes? Thats a good question, that'll get many different answers. Aftermarket intakes, compared to factory, are more or less mission specific. Meaning, intake needs to match a specific engine combination to produce the best overall performance.

Many here swear by factory cast iron intakes, and they are hard to beat on factory engines.

So as far as your intake goes, everything has to be took into consideration, from every detail about your engine, your car, how you drive, and what you want out of it. Same as changing any other performance enhancing part on a car. Right choice you help it and wrong choice you hurt it.

My thoughts, if you're happy with it, drive it.
