Looked at summit under cams they sell comp 292h cam .244/.244 @.50 .501/.501 lift for Chevy its sells for 109. For Pontiac same cam numbers etc. 139.00. So if I wanted this cam couldn't I tell then it for a chevy and get it for $109 vs. $139. this question is really based on price not so much for my combo.

I don't think a Chevy cam will fit your Pontiac engine. The lobe #'s are the same, but can't switch between two different type blocks.

Volume, they produce and sell millions of "Chevy" cams but only thousands of "Pontiac" cams. Demand of each is priced accordingly. Some times the truth just hurts. JD

Good luck to the new owner of the Ventura II! Sold the car after 13+ years. Look for it on the Hot Rod Power Tour in the future as it's currently being re-configured as a Pro-Touring ride!

Chevy cam will NOT fit a Pontiac block. You just have to tough it out and pay more for the Pontiac part. Be thankful it isn't a Buick or Cadillac performance part...
